After a full week of rain, the sun made its first appearance on Saturday of last week. Between Sunday 01/12/19 and Friday evening 06/12/19 around 160mm of rain fell, well distributed over the five days of the week.

This rain in itself was a godsend, because water reserves need to be replenished in the winter to be able to irrigate in the summer. And it’s better to have good, consistent rainfall than one heavy downpour which can’t be absorbed by the soil.

It’s just the somewhat inconvenient timing that has thrown off our harvest plans quite a bit. After the fruit and trees dried, harvest work resumed Saturday afternoon. We picked all day on Sunday and haven’t stopped since. Let’s hope the weather stays like this for a few days so we can make up for lost time and make all the scheduled deliveries. Thanks for keeping your fingers crossed!
