Yesterday evening it started to rain in Montesa, as well as in the whole province of Valencia. What would have been excellent news from spring to autumn is now bad news. Barely five days after kicking off the harvest, we already had to send our pickers home again today.
Wet fruits must not be picked under any circumstances, they would rot prematurely. Patience is the order of the day, there is nothing to do but wait until the sun shines again and until the fruit is completely dry. And what does the weather forecast look like right now? Unfortunately not very good, continuous rain is forecast until the end of the week.
As soon as the weather permits, we will resume harvesting and hope for a few days of sunshine!
